Mappable is a music app that runs in your web browser, allowing you to discover, play, collect, and share music in a unique new visual way. We generate maps of artists based on the relationships between them. In this way, the artists on a given map determine its shape. We combine data from multiple public data sources and use it to classify artists and group them into structures that provide context at-a-glance.
Access to Mappable is currently limited to members only. To sign up, visit our home page at mappable.com
Mappable requires users to have a sufficiently modern desktop, laptop or tablet computer, a modern web browser capable of running WebGL graphics, and an internet connection fast enough to support streaming audio and video.
Supported Operating Systems
- Windows 7 or later
- Mac OS 10.7 or later
- Chrome OS
We recommend running the newest stable version available of an operating system. The versions listed above are the minimum suggested. Some versions of Linux with the right web browser can also run Mappable, but we do not test the app on Linux.
Supported Web Browsers
- Chrome, Version 31 or later
- Firefox, Version 31 or later
- Safari, Version 8 or later (requires Mac OS 10.10)
We recommend running the newest version of a browser available. The versions listed above are the minimum capable of running the app, but you may experience some buggy behavior in older versions.
We are actively working to add support for Internet Explorer 11, but it is not yet supported.
Can I use a Mobile Browser?
We do not officially support using Mappable with a mobile browser, but some users have reported success with certain Android devices using the latest OS version and latest browsers. For the time being we recommend using a desktop or laptop computer and a supported web browser for the best experience.
Do you have a Mobile App?
Our mobile apps are currently under development. For now a computer and supported web browser are required to experience Mappable.
